Felling Concert Choir was founded in 1984 as Felling Gilbert and Sullivan society to perform concert versions of G&S operettas. The choir recently changed its repertoire, and its name, and is now an established mixed voice choir of 40-50 voices, with conductor Elaine Marley and accompanist Philip Chapman.
The choir's repertoire is extensive and includes show tunes, ballads, sacred choruses, specially commissioned music, spirituals, and, in recognition of the choir's founding aims, selections from Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.
The choir normally performs 5 or 6 concerts per year. These usually include Christmas, miscellaneous and joint concerts with other local choirs - including an annual charity concert with Felling Male Voice choir, which is an established part of the choir's concert programme every January.
The choir's aim is to give enjoyment to ourselves and others and to raise funds for charities.
